| Blind Spot Detection and Rear Vehicle Detection standard on Premium, Limited and Touring not available on Base |
standard on Premium, Limited, and Touring. Not available on Base. The Blind Spot Detection symbol is in the outside mirror's housing The Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD) system uses two radar units, each mounted underneath the sheet metal immediately below the rear taillights. To help avoid damage, the radar units are purposely mounted above the typical bumper impact line. The radar units send out signals to detect vehicles behind and to each side of the Subaru vehicle, especially those vehicles that might not be visible in the rearview mirrors. Blind Spot Detection (BSD) detects a vehicle alongside and/or slightly to the rear of the car in an area of about 22 feet x 11 feet. If the driver signals a lane change to that side, the warning icon in the mirror will flash. Lane Change Assist warns of vehicles approaching in the next lane, Lane Change Assist (LCA) looks for vehicles farther back in an adjacent lane – about 220 feet behind the Subaru vehicle. If the vehicle detected is approaching quickly – at a speed that could bring it alongside the Subaru vehicle within a few seconds Rear Cross Traffic Alert beeps and warns of vehicles approaching from the sides when you're backing out of a parking spot. |
| Eyesight |
Eyesight Standard on all 2019 Ascent Eyesight uses two small, forward facing cameras on either side of the rear view mirror that monitor the road ahead. Eyesight will turn off if the windshield fogs up or they can't see for any reason. Do not touch or try to clean the Eyesight camera lenses. It is imperative that extra precaution be used when cleaning the inside of the windshield, because over-spray from cleaners may impair or damage the cameras’ lenses. Standard on all models Eyesight > Eyesight Assist Monitor (EAM)- displays Eyesight information on the lower left inside of the windshield. > Active Cruise Control combines the benefits of cruise control with active monitoring of the road ahead. It issues warnings and activates automatic braking when needed. Adaptive Cruise Control can regulate vehicle speed in order to keep a safe following distance from the vehicle ahead. It does not replace conventional cruise control, which can still be used when desired. > Lane Keep Assist uses the car's electric power steering to help keep the car in its lane at highway speeds over 40mph. Can be turned off by the driver. > Pre-Collision Braking can recognize an impending collision, alert the driver and apply the brakes to help avoid a collision or minimize the impact > Pre-Collision Brake Assist- If Eyesight recognizes an impending collision and the driver is applying the brakes but not with enough force, Pre-Collision Brake Assist automatically applies up to full braking pressure in order to try to shorten braking distances. > Pre-Collision Throttle Management is designed to help prevent drivers from accelerating into a stopped vehicle or other obstacle in front of them. It warns the driver and reduces engine power until he or she applies the brakes to avoid an impact. > Lead Vehicle Start Alert is a helpful Eyesight feature that beeps after a vehicle in front has started to move away. > Lane Departure Warning alerts drivers when they unintentionally move out of their lane. It takes no corrective vehicle action. > Lane Sway Warning detects unusual back and forth vehicle movement within the lane of travel. Limited and Touring > High Beam Assist- included Limited and Touring Switches headlight from high beam to low beam when it sees an approaching car. Only works when you have the high beams on. For dark road driving since people don't usually have high beams on in urban areas or on well lit roads. Uses a sensor behind the rear view mirror. |

WHAT IS HD RADIO
FM HD radio is free. There's no charge
Its a Digital radio signal with improved clarity and larger selection of stations than standard FM.
The ‘HD’ in ‘HD Radio’ is part of iBiquity Digital’s brand name for its digital AM and FM radio technology.
It does not mean either 'hybrid digital' or 'high definition'.
Again, HD Radio broadcasting is free, there are no fees.
You can get digital AM and FM stations, including HD2 and HD3 multicast channels.
HD is your favorite normal local AM and FM stations broadcasting digitally, producing improved clean sound.
Radio station subchannels give you more selection.
The service includes iTunes Tagging. iTunes Tagging lets you capture information about a song on the radio and store it on your iPod by pushing the "Tag" button on the HD Radio receiver. When your iPod is connected to iTunes, a list of tagged songs will appear which can be purchased.

WHAT IS HD RADIO
FM HD radio is free. There's no charge
Its a Digital radio signal with improved clarity and larger selection of stations than standard FM.
The ‘HD’ in ‘HD Radio’ is part of iBiquity Digital’s brand name for its digital AM and FM radio technology.
It does not mean either 'hybrid digital' or 'high definition'.
Again, HD Radio broadcasting is free, there are no fees.
You can get digital AM and FM stations, including HD2 and HD3 multicast channels.
HD is your favorite normal local AM and FM stations broadcasting digitally, producing improved clean sound.
Radio station subchannels give you more selection.
The service includes iTunes Tagging. iTunes Tagging lets you capture information about a song on the radio and store it on your iPod by pushing the "Tag" button on the HD Radio receiver. When your iPod is connected to iTunes, a list of tagged songs will appear which can be purchased.

What if the dealer doesn't have what I want?
The Ascent is not due uintil July 2018 so everything will be an order until that time.
Dealers get a limited number of cars each month.
They have an Incoming pipeline report and you can put your name on one of the incoming cars.
As a result many incoming cars will be sold (reserved) before they arrive.
That means a factory order might be the way to get the exact car and features you want.
Factory orders will be filled from your dealer's normal allocation of Ascents,
Vehicles are generally allocated at the start of the month
When first ordered, the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) will probably be a 'month of...' that is up to 3 months from the order date.
The order will then be filled as available but it will probably be in the 2-3 month window.
Your dealer can also try to locate or find a suitable car for you at another dealer who is willing to swap Ascents.
Be patient, the dealer will want you get your car as quickly as possible.
