Model Overview, 2006 Legacy full specs are below subject to change, correction This is the 4th generation Legacy. The 3rd was 2004-00, 2nd was 1999-95, and the 1st generation was 1994-90 Major changes for the 2006 model year include:  gone models dropped are cloth model GT and the manual transmission 2.5i Limited and the manual transmission GT Limited wagon. You can still get a manual transmission GT Limited sedan. (also gone is the cloth Outback XT, though you can still get a manual Outback XT Limited.
