4/14/15 2015 WRX and STI order deadline is 4/22
No 2015 model WRX or STI orders will be accepted by Subaru after April 22nd.
That means details and specs on the upgraded 16s models with new audio/infotainment systems can't be too far behind.
If you want a 2015, check your dealers supply, on the ground or coming in, or factory order one.
Here are the 2015s that can still be ordered until the April 22nd deadline- subject to change depending on end of model year supplies.

2/19/15 2015 WRX and STI end of model year cutoff starts
This is the start of the end for the 2015 WRX and STIs. Effective today Feb 19, with no advance warning, Subaru announced they are no longer accepting factory orders for the following WRX and STI models and colors.
The discontinued models all have navigation, and it is hoped that the 2016 models will get the new upgraded 6.2" and 7" LCD audio 'infotainment' systems being rolled out on all the other Subarus as the new models are released.
Models not on this list can still be ordered at this time though that is subject to availability so if you want one, now is the time to order one. Details on the 16s are expected soon.

1/15/15 2015 WRX Sport Accessory package code IZG currently not available.
it will be available again late March. The package, code IZG, includes STI brand alloy wheels, short shifter, performance exhaust, and the leather/aluminum shift knob. MSRP is $3403.

10/4/14 STI Launch Edition is sold out
an inventory search shows only one Launch Edition is available (its in New England) though dealers might have cars that they thought were were sold so they dont show as available, but the sale didn't get completed.

6/1 sticking fuel door on model made before late April 2014
The fuel doesn't open when the door release is pulled. Replace the spring and clip. TSB 9-57-14

5/7 the Performance Catback Exhaust that was previously on hold (see dated 4/3 below) is now being shipped.
Note- after working on or around the catback exhaust, to prevent staining from grease, oil, even fingerprints, wipe the exhaust pipes with windex or similar detergent/water

5/5 SAFETY - WRX and STI score top ratings for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS.com)
from IIHS.org "The 2015 Subaru WRX, a small, sporty car, earns the IIHS Top Safety Pick award for good performance in each of the Institute's crashworthiness evaluations, including the small overlap front test.
This is the first time IIHS has rated the WRX, which was completely redesigned for 2015. Although it shares some design elements with the Subaru Impreza, there are sufficient differences for the vehicles to be rated separately.
In the small overlap test, the structure of the WRX held up, and the driver's space was maintained well. The dummy's movement was well-controlled, and measures taken from the dummy indicated a low risk of any significant injuries. The dummy's head made good contact with the front airbag, which stayed in position during the crash. The side airbag deployed with enough forward coverage to protect the head from contact with side structure and outside objects.
The Institute introduced the small overlap evaluation in 2012. In the test, which is more challenging than either the head-on crashes conducted by the government or the IIHS moderate overlap test, 25 percent of a vehicle's front end on the driver's side strikes a rigid barrier at 40 mph. The crash replicates what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or an object such as a tree or utility pole.
The WRX also earned good ratings in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests.
With the addition of the WRX, Subaru now has six models that have earned 2014 safety awards from IIHS — three with Top Safety Pick and three with Top Safety Pick+. To qualify for Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn a good or acceptable rating for small overlap protection and a good rating in the other four tests. The "plus" is awarded to vehicles that meet those criteria and also earn a rating of basic or higher for front crash prevention."

Due to an undisclosed issue, Subaru is not shipping any cars with, or accepting new orders for, the upgraded Performance Exhaust option.
If you ordered a car with it, the delivery will be pushed back, with availability restarting (hopefully) in June.
With any new car, with all the new computer programming, new parts, and new vendors, that there are some problems or delays shouldn't be a surprise. And Subaru is very proactive in fixing things as soon as they can.

The rubber compound does not maintain elasticity in cold weather. This means the grip level of the tire is less in cold temperatures even on dry pavement. In the cold a summer tire becomes unpredictable and feels slippery when cornering no matter what the weather. This problem is compounded in wet or snowy conditions.

Effective today Thursday Feb 19, with no advance warning, Subaru announced they are no longer accepting factory orders for the following WRX and STI models and colors. Models not on this list can still be ordered at this time though that is subject to availability so if you want one, now is the time to order one.

What is HD radio
HD Radio is free. its a digital radio broadcast signal with 'subchannels' of the main channel you are listening to.
HD radio website, check stations etc

The ‘HD’ in ‘HD Radio’ is part of iBiquity Digital’s brand name for its digital AM and FM radio technology.
HD is not an acronym for either hybrid digital or high definition, it is simply the name for this technology.
HD Radio broadcasting is free, there are no subscription fees.
The HD channels are not particularly strong, so you might lose the signal in garages or in mountains or downtown between buildings.
The service includes iTunes Tagging which lets you capture information about a song on the radio and store it on your Apple device by pushing the "Tag" button on the HD Radio receiver. When your device is connected to iTunes, a list of tagged songs will appear which can be purchased.

How to get a car
inventory, or dealer trade, or ordering

Inventory - Dealers are offered inventory a month or so in advance. The quantity and models can vary from month to month. Most cars will have a extra options or upgrades, features that are popular in the area. Some, but only a few, will not have any extras at all.
Cars in stock are available for immediate purchase and dealers might be more motivated to move them.

"Dealer trade" or "locate". This is when a dealer looks for a vehicle in another local dealer's inventory and then trades cars, ie swaps cars, with that dealer.
This means the requesting dealer has to have a car the other dealer will accept back in trade.
There are many people involved in this process, both at the dealerships, banks which hold the titles to the cars, and at Subaru which tracks the cars.
The vehicle is usually driven from the other location. This can take place within days if a vehicle is already in stock someplace.

Pre-sell, incoming: You wait for a vehicle the dealer already has incoming in their system.

Order:
If you really want a specific vehicle, you can order it. Subaru requires customer information and a deposit.
Once ordered Subaru will give an expected delivery Month.
There will be date, an ETA, an estimated time of arrival. This is not a promise the car will there on a specific day or week and the frequently changes. Your dealer can watch for updates.

Orders are filled as the right model, transmission, and color is available, on a first in basis.
The time is takes to get ban order varies and delays can happen at any point along the assembly and shipping process, so be patient.
If you are requesting a popular car with a waiting list, or an uncommon car, it can take longer.

If a certain individual option or accessory is not available for installation, the car will still be sent to the dealer. The accessory can then be added by the dealer but the cost might change.
The dealer wants you to get your car as quickly as you want to get it!
